A sunny & crisp January morning greeted us as we awoke in Big Sur. The mission quickly became to hurry over to the Big Sur Bakery for breakfast. We still marvel at what awaited us there. An assortment of freshly baked pastries, muffins, and other breakfast treats all enjoyed with an insanely killer latte made by a friendly hippie who offered us tips on the best places to go sea kayaking in the area. Too bad we were only there for the hiking. No worries though as we sat in silence marveling at the green cascading mountains of the Santa Lucia range just outside the window. We still dream of it and can’t wait to get back to that special place on that magical stretch of coast the Spanish christened “el sur grande”.
