I’m really excited to share this with those who like different varieties of dishes. I originally came across this from a local street seller and it turned out to brighten my day. So I’m Nigerian and although I’m Nigerian I’m ashamed to say there are very few delicacies I have personally tried in my country. Masa originated from the Hausas but is commonly loved by all; it is basically made from rice that has been soaked overnight and blended. You can choose to have the option of pepper and onions in it, but the majority choose for it not to have either. It’s a delicacy that can be made from the rice, with sugar and salt, and then it is fried. It can be eaten with yaggj (grounded pepper) or ground nut soup.
My first time eating this delicacy came as a cultural surprise! Although it is a little odd, I won’t deny Nigerian masa is incredibly tasty.
