Matar paneer is peas with tomato gravy and garam masala with cottage cheese. The meaning of matar is peas. Paneer is cottage cheese cut in cubes. It is a North Indian vegetarian dish served all over India. Fresh tomatoes, fresh peas, cottage cheese and garam masala with ginger and garlic paste as the main ingredients. Salt and spices are added per taste. It is served hot for lunch or dinner along with steamed rice or Indian bread (chapati).
