Rice cake with molasses

Submitted by puranibhita
Assam, India

This is a rice cake stuffed with molasses and deep-fried to crispy hot perfection. This is a hot sweet dish that is typically eaten for breakfast. You can find it in most parts of northeast India, but we enjoyed ours in Assam courtesy of local tasty food ... look for the plate "Guwahati." Thin and crispy, it's an ideal way to start the day, particularly if you ask for some on the side.
