
The most popular traditional Kazakh dish, besbarmak, is common in the western province of Mongolia called Bayan Olgii. The name translates to “five fingers, ” indicating that the dish is eaten with the hands. Besbarmak consists of meat, broth and pasta. Ours was plated with boiled potatoes and accompanied by a vegetable slaw.
