Club Social is one of two great Italian cafes/institutions in Mile End, where locals of all stripes congregate daily for coffee, sports & shooting the sh*t (Cafe Olimpico is the other, down the street). It's more about the atmosphere/history here--it's a former Italian social club--than the coffee itself, but it's fun to make like everyone else: Get a steaming cafe au lait (in a glass!) & bring it to the terrace.
