Subanik is a Guatemalan meat stew (usually made with beef and chicken) with tomato, peppers and chilli based sauce. The one served at La Esquina had three types of meat – lamb, beef and chicken and came with tortillas and rice. It was delicious and I could easily have shared another bowl.
