Casado is the most typical (and affordable!) meal in Costa Rica. You make a choice between beef/chicken/fish or vegetarian combination that will be served with a side of steamed rice, black beans, salad, fried banana and, sometimes, fried egg. This makes for a balanced, tasty and very fulfilling meal, best finished up with some Costa Rican coffee!
