Often debated between Australian's and New Zealanders; the AUSTRALIAN pavlova is a meringue shaped into a tutu like round "blob". A good one is crisp on the outside and soft and light on the inside. Whereas the NZ one is a firm shape more typical of a cake. They also use the kiwi fruit. Whereas Australians prefer berries.
