As silly as this combination might sound, salchipapas is extremely popular all over South America and Peru claims to have invented it. It is simply a combination of french fries topped with sliced fried sausages. But the edge comes with the toppings: ketchup, mayo, mustard and aji (local sauce made with spicy chillies).
