Limon con Papelon

Submitted by jessie
La Maracucha
Perez de Leon Caracas

Papelón con limón is a Venezuelan drink made with papelón (raw hardened sugar cane pulp), water, and lime juice. It's often served with hearty typical lunches of meat, beans, and plantains served at local lunch spots like La Maracucha. Not overly sweet, the citrus does a wonderful job of cutting the heaviness of the cuisine on a hot day.
