Chez Panisse is essentially a homage to seasonal cuisine. I went there recently for dinner with my husband and friends and the meal was delightful. Most delightful was the Black Mission Fig Tart served for desert, with house honey ice-cream. The tart was simple – freshly sliced figs with a dizzle of syrup over top – but it tasted like perfection.
