“Indian taco”

Submitted by lsr
Santo Domingo pueblo
Santo Domingo pueblo, New Mexico

We going this so-called Indian taco deep within Santo Domingo pueblo after a hike at Tent Rocks. It was from a tiny little eatery mostly servicing locals. Beef, beans, cheese, lettuce and tomato were piled atop fry bread and doused with spicy red chile sauce. It didn’t taste as good as it looked; was more burning-hot than flavorful, but it was an adventure finding it...and gave us an eye-opening look at reservation life.
