Alamo offers an assortment of handmade and machine-made tamales at all hours (obviously, go for the former!). On the handmade front, the Berry Rd branch, its ceiling festively hung with piñatas, has bean, chicken, or pork tamales, sold by the dozen for $12.99—and yep, you’re allowed to mix and match.
