Benni (sesame seed) cakes and groundnut (peanut) cakes are two common sweet snacks peddled by street vendors in Sierra Leone's cities. Benni cake, on the left, is sweet and nutty, while the groundnut cake is sticky and peanutty, similar to peanut brittle. Both make a delicious little treat for Le500! For hygiene reasons, it's best to ask to choose your own cake; otherwise it will get passed to you w/bare hands.
