Kheer, Indian Rice Pudding

Submitted by janvi10

Indian rice pudding, kheer, is part of the staple diet of India. Kheer is relished in India. The basic ingredients used are rice, sugar or condensed milk, nuts and milk--all readily available around the world. Kheer is decorated with nuts like almonds and pistachios. The simplicity of kheer with basic ingredients, and the fact that it is not time-consuming to make, has made it a well-known sweet dish for many in India. It is a favorite party dish and also served in festivities and weddings.
