Vivace pizza consisted of mozzarella, burrato, Parma ham, chopped pistachios, and yellow datterino. What made this dish memorable was the location of the restaurant, which was on the beach overlooking the Ionian Sea. Surprisingly, this pizza had a thin crust, unlike the thicker Sicilian pie crusts usually associated with our local Sicilian pizza.
However, what made the pizza especially great was the next-day leftovers. We had cold Vivace pizza for lunch, and the flavors popped even more than when at the restaurant. The food and hospitality at this local restaurant, which is adjacent to the town of Taormina, is a worth a visit.
