Lahmacun

Submitted by lsr
Mercan Patisserie
Rozengracht 148 Amsterdam, the Netherlands

The Turkish have become one of the major immigrant groups in Amsterdam since the '60s, when the city saw an influx of migrant workers from Turkey. To taste the influence on the street, skip the kebabs and baklava and get yourself some lahmacun, or Turkish pizza: spiced minced lamb, shredded lettuce, hot sauce, and white garlic sauce, all rolled up in a thin toasted pita.
