This was just a standard simit, or sesame-seeded bread roll, from a street vendor out in front of Topkapi Palace, but it really hit the spot for breakfast one morning. It was warm and soft and, when I asked the vendor to halve it and spread on some local cheese (the packaged kind, similar to Laughing Cow), delicious! Turkey’s answer to a bagel w/cream cheese.
