Widely considered the best Mexican joint in Queens, this out-of-the-way local spot caters to all crowds with fresh tortillas using homemade nixtamal (you will find their tortillas used all over the city). Go for a taco, like the lamb barbacoa and guacamole-frijole ones we enjoyed. I must note that I would love to see a place that takes such pride in their tortillas making some by hand…these still don’t even compare to those we recently ate in the motherland. Also, stay away from the mole tamale!
