The original Sloppy Joe sandwich

Submitted by lsr
Town Hall Delicatessen
74 1st St. South Orange, NJ

This friendly deli claims it invented, in the 1930s, the Sloppy Joe deli sandwich (nothing to do with the ground-beef one): a triple-decker on excellent thin-sliced rye, with your choice of meat (we did roast beef & turkey), Swiss cheese, cole slaw & homemade Russian dressing. It is huge & pricey, around $20 each, but obvi can feed several people. And it's quite enjoyable to eat, I gotta admit. Definitely get some of that rye bread to go before you leave.
