Bowens Island is a must for its Lowcountry food & festive atmosphere right on the marshes. We loved the classic Frogmore stew, but also enjoyed the tempura-like fried shrimp, really light and flavorful and delicious. It didn't NEED to be served over a bed of fries, but those were good, too--and we loved the two hush puppies on the side.
