What: Rice sweetened with coconut, a very common side dish along Colombia’s Caribbean coast. It’s just as delicious as it sounds.
Where: Nearly anywhere they sell seafood, they’ll sell arroz con coco. (Our pic is of the lovely fish lunch prepared for us on Isla Tierrabomba/Punta Arenas at the Playa Vista, map, resort there, which we visited on a day trip organized for us by Hotel Tres Banderas: pargo (snapper) with arroz con coco, salad, and patacones, or fried plantains.)
Alternatively: The excellent seafood restaurant La Casa de Socorro (57-5-664-4658; Calle Larga No. 8B-112, map) in Getsemaní has many dishes incorporating arroz con coco.
